Butterfly Walk 4th July

Club member, Maria Leekblade, took a party of about ten members on a butterfly walk near Lyndhurst on Thursday 4th July. The images above are by Mark, Sue and Elaine. There were scores of the tiny blue butterflies and it gave us all a chance to practice macro shooting with and without flash.

Despite warnings from Maria we avoided ticks and adders. Thank you Maria for organising such an excellent summer walk for the club. We will be meeting at the Fisherman’s Arms on 18th to review our efforts.

Say it with flowers – Summer Walks begin

The 2019 season of Summer Walks began with a trip to Woodside Park in the hope of getting some images for the Club’s Lymington in Bloom exhibition (12-30 August Lloyds Bank Lymington High Street).

The weather was pretty dull and we all tried some closeup work and this correspondent at least, confirmed how hard it was to get sharp macro shots even with a tripod and a 5 knot wind. Still plenty of time over the summer to get more and better images.

‘Summer Walk’ – visit to Southern Motorcross at Elvetham

5 members of Lymington Camera Club went to the Southern Motocross at Elevatham. We had a cracking day and many thanks to all at SMX for their help.

On 15th July 2018 Louis, Brian, Sue, David, and Mark had an excellent day at the Southern MX circuit. It was a chance to practice panning and high-speed shooting. Finding the venue was a challenge but we all got there and we were given free access to the course. Everyone came away with some good images and the pint in Hartley Witney afterward was a welcome break from the heat. We’re looking at some other motorsport activity later in the summer for those who couldn’t make it this time.
