2017/18 Set Subjects

We have four competitions with no set subject. Members may enter Images on any subject they choose in colour or monochrome.

The two set subject competitions this year are ‘Pastimes’ for PDI and ‘‘Less is More’, Minimalist Photography’ for Prints.

‘Less is More’, Minimalist Photography – a genre where attention is focused solely on one particular subject without any elements which may distract from that subject.

Extremely simple but dramatic images can be achieved by sparing use of components such as colour, shape, line and texture.

Pastimes – A pastime is any activity done for enjoyment rather than work including sports, hobbies and even shopping! So, five-a-side on a Sunday morning is a pastime as is watching Manchester United. Playing for them is work.

June – August SUMMER BREAK / Photo Walks 7pm 2nd & 4th Thursdays
