As you may know, Maggie takes out a couple of kids who are interested in photography and because there are no Clubs for them to be able to get feedback on their photographs, she looks for local competitions as a way of encouragement and fun.
This year her granddaughter entered the Everton Village photo competition (judged by Club member Louis Rumis) and she came first in her age section and won a beautiful glass trophy. Maggie also entered them and herself into the Bashley Village and Bransgore Horticultural shows which happened to be on the same day but was great fun rushing back and forward between the two. They did very well in each competition and Maggie came away with a cup from both! (both were very badly tarnished but fun to receive). Pat won the mono competition
Maggie’s reason for entering these competitions is for fun and to encourage the kids to improve their photography skills by getting an independent comment from the judges. They are now planning for next year and so far they have taken some cracking photos in Bournemouth Gardens of buskers, squirrels etc.
Congratulations to Maggie and Pat. Here are some of Maggie’s winning images
